Health Benefits of Yoga
Physical health aspects like strength, flexibility, balance, and weight management, as well as physiological benefits such as improved sleep, and psychological advantages like stress reduction and depression alleviation, have all been extensively studied and confirmed over recent decades as benefits of yoga poses and breathing exercises. While popular culture often portrays yoga as an activity for slender, flexible women, countless individuals, including men, have been practicing yoga for millennia (Corliss, 2021).
Health benefits of music and storytelling
The music and short stories in this book provide you with emotional support. “Music can make you laugh or cry, rile you up or calm you down. Some say it's good for the soul. Music and healing go hand in hand” (Gaab, et al., 2015). In addition, research suggest that the reading and the formation of a narrative enhances mental and physical health(Pennebaker & Seagal, 1999). “Story reading led to improvement in your mindfulness, optimism, happiness, and positive emotions, and also caused reduction in depression” (Arslan, et al., 2022).

"We argue that poetry can play a very relevant role and have an impact in medicine. Through a brief literature review of previous studies on poetry in medicine, we demonstrate that poetry can not only combat loneliness but can also play important roles in helping patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals/providers. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we believe now is the perfect opportunity to utilize poetry because the benefits can be experienced even in solitude, which is why this is such a timely and pertinent issue today."Xiang, & Yi, 2020)
